Guest conductor Teresa Cheung’s program celebrates music inspired by women. George Tsontakis dedicated his Clair de Lune to his mother for her endless devotion to his family. Robert Schumann’s Romantic Symphony no.2 was inspired in part by his gifted pianist wife Clara. Mendelssohn’s violin concerto is performed by the young sensation Elena Urioste—first prize winner of both the Sion and Sphinx Competitions.
